![]() < Return to Contents 3.c - Using the Browser Back and Forward ButtonsBlackboard is a "frame based" Internet Application. That means that content is displayed on multiple portions of the screen at a time, and that it uses secure forms to post information back and forth to the server. Blackboard Students and Instructors are requested to refrain from using the "Back" and "Forward" buttons on the Internet Browser while logged into Blackboard. On certain screens (such as Discussion Board postings, Assignments, Tests, Quizzes, etc.) using the "Back" or "Forward" button can cause problems and errors in posting to the server. If you are taking a Test or Quiz online, you should NOT use the "Back" or "Forward" button. This will cause your test to be invalidated and unable to submit the result back to the server. Instead of using the "Back" and "Forward" buttons, please use the navigation buttons within Blackboard to move from page to page. This will make your experience using Blackboard much easier and cause less problems for you. Many of the remaining sections of Part 3 of this Guide cover the available navigation options in Blackboard. Please review these to help get familiar with how to move around in Blackboard. |
