3.b - Changing Your Personal
Settings
There are a number of things that you can change in your Personal Profile
on Blackboard. If you want to change any of these options, you can visit
the "Personal Information" on the "Tools" area of
the Home Page.

This will open the Personal Information screen:

Here is a short description about each of these options and what they
mean to you. If you want to change any of the options, click on the option
and follow the on-screen steps to change your Personal Information:
- Edit Personal Information - Use this option to change
your name, birthdate, address, phone and other contact information.
This information is important to keep up to date, since this is the
information that your online instructors will use to make contact with
you.
- Change Password - Use this option to change your
Blackboard Password. Please be aware that changing your password through
this option ONLY changes your Blackboard Password, and does not change
your password for other NSU Resources such as WebMail, Library, VPN,
etc. If you need to change all of your passwords, please visit the Microcomputing
Services Center on the 3rd Floor of the NET Building, visit a Computer
Lab attendant at any on-campus computer lab, or send an email to help@nsuok.edu.
- Set CD-ROM Drive - Use this option to tell Blackboard
where your CD-ROM Drive is located on your computer. This option is
primarily ONLY needed when an instructor delivers offline material distributed
on CD-ROM media.
- Set Privacy Options - This option allows you to specify
whether you want your information made visible on Blackboard. Please
note: if you turn this option off, your Instructor(s) will NOT be able
to view your contact information! If your instructor is unable to view
your contact information, you may miss out on important announcements
and information from your instructors!
- Set Visual Text Box Editor Options - This option
allows you to specify if you want to use the "Visual Text Box Editor"
in Blackboard. This option only works for those who use Microsoft Internet
Explorer. Normally, you will leave this option "ON" unless
you are having difficulty posting information onto the Blackboard Server.
- Set Local - Allows you to specify a default Language.
Currently, Blackboard at NSU only officially supports American English
as the default Language.
