2.a - Computer Hardware Requirements and Recommendations

While there are many different computer manufacturers and many different types of additional hardware configurations on most computers, the following list should serve as a guide for getting the best results with your experience with Blackboard at NSU:

Minimum Computer Hardware:

Pentium Processor
32 MB of Ram
500 MB Hard Drive
15" Monitor
28.8 Kbps Modem
Windows 95

Recommended Computer Hardware:

Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon Processor (or better)
128 MB (or more) of RAM
8 GB (or higher) Hard Drive
15" or 17" Monitor
DSL/Cable Internet (or 56Kbps Modem)
Windows XP (w/Service Pack 2) or Windows 2000 (w/Service Pack 4)

You should strongly consider using the Recommended computer hardware specified above. If you are running with the minimum requirements, you may experience long delays and possible "time-outs" when trying to download large files such as powerpoint presentations, audio, or video files, etc.
